Under the auspices of Stree Shakti Jagruti Samiti and the inspiring guidance of Late Padmashree Anutai Wagh an educational centre for Deaf and Dumb Children was founded on 23 June , 1980 with 5 Students in Dahanu Taluka Which is Predominantly An Adivasi Area. At Present the School Has got Classes up to 6 th std where-ever 101 students are being imparted acadamic education in school. Besides the acadamic educationan the students are also given training in drawing,Carpentary, Freight work,Tailoring, Crafts, Screen Printing and also show pieces making etc. We are enough fortunate to have trained & Sincere faculty to take care of these poor disabled students. The students are also trained for cultural & sports activities organised at the state level. These students have procured many Gold,Silver & Bronze medals in Dance and Drama Competition held at Taluka and State levels. They have presented their plays in Various play houses. A spacious building is available for school and Hostel. the school is aided and gets grants from the state gov. However the grants sanctioned are not sufficient to meet with the expenses made and hence the burden of huge expenses falls on the school committee. The committee has therefore to approach to the philonthropic persons on and often for generous donations. The Students admitted are coming from economically backward class people who cannot afford to spend any money for upliftment of their child. Obiviously these expenses are also to be made by the school. The Grants received for these expenceses are merge and limited. The students are therefore deprived of their social developments. If philonthropists like you come forward and extend their hand to help these poor students development, it will be much useful to school to introduce many other schemes for Rehabilitation and progress of these students in a very short time.
